  • Design strategies for getting to know your students.
  • Begin to develop a class website, and reflect on how it can be used to differentiate instruction.

  • Who Do You Think You Are?
    • Discussion of assigned reading "Knowing Students Well" from Fires in the Bathroom
  • Getting To Know You: A model of information exchange
  • What Did I Discover?
    • Revelations mined from seating chart activity? Any surprises?
  • Planning Calendar Update
    • Create your planning calendar for the week after winter break.
  • Week's Wrap up:
    • What made you a) proud, b) wiser , c) smile this past week?

Homework

  • Choose one from two readings about meeting students' needs.
  • Skim the chapter that you chose.
  • Choose one section that is of interest/concern to you and add your reading notes from this section to our shared notes documents on the pages linked above.
  • Identify at least three students that you suspect have unusual needs your "seating chart" class. Use school resources to learn as much as you can about each of these students and update your seating chart with this information.
